This guide will show you how to start the Scavenging Hunt quest for the Superior Feline Gear from the Cat School witcher set in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt next-gen update, where to find and obtain all the diagrams and the requirements to craft the armor and weapons!

What is the Superior Feline Gear and who is it for
The Superior Feline witcher set is for level 29 and is an upgrade to the Enhanced Feline witcher gear (level 23), an upgrade to the basic Feline witcher gear (level 17). It’s a light armor set that increases Experienced earned, chance to cause bleeding as well as resistance to piercing, slashing, elemental, and monster damage.
You need to craft the Basic and Enhanced armor and swords first as they are part of the requirements to craft the Superior version. More on that in the Crafting Segment later in this guide.
How to start the Scavenging Hunt quest
You can purchase the fragment from the merchant in Crow’s Perch that’s closer to the Armorer. This will start the Scavenger Hunt: Cat School Gear Upgrade Diagrams – Part 3.
The Superior Feline set requires level 29 to wear. You can start this quest earlier, there are some enemies at the diagram’s locations so you can get every diagram really quickly. You could obtain them at a lower level as well, but you will not be able to wear the gear.
Visual Overview of the set
This set comes in dark blue color. It features a utility belt and chain mail protection around the neck, and both arms. You can use a dye on it to change the colors of each individual item. Dyes can be purchased from theDyes Merchant in Toussaint.
Where to find the Diagrams
There are six diagrams of the Superior Feline Cat School Gear. They’re distributed between Novigrad and Velen. The order in which you get the diagrams doesn’t matter. Finding all six will auto-complete the Scavenger Hunt quests related to them.
Superior Feline Armor, Gauntlets, Trousers, and Boots Diagram Location
The Superior Feline diagrams of the Armor, Gauntlet, Trousers, and Boots are all located in a single chest. Go to the marked location on the map below, it is Southwest of the Dragonslayer’s Grotto in Velen.
You’ll know that you’re at the right place when you see this level 27 Earth Elemental.
Once you defeated the Earth Elemental, click on the stone marked on your map. It will tell you to search in the nearby area. Look for the destroyed stone wall and go to the corner on the “inside”.
The chest containing all the Superior Feline armor diagrams is there.
Superior Feline Steel Sword diagram location
You must find this Monster Den located Northeast of Novigrad.
Once you’re there, use your witcher senses to find this rock with the School of the Cat mark. Go inside the cave and defeat the level 16 Golem.
You’ll notice a small boat and plenty of loot at the deepest part of the cave.

Superior Feline Silver Sword diagram location
The Feline Silver Sword is located in a cave far South of Novigrad.
Before entering the cave use your witcher senses to locate the mark on the wall. Keep your guard up, there’s a Rabid Rock Troll and Nekkers inside the cave. All of them are level 16.
If you enter the cave without doing any deviations it’s going to be on your right side of the wall. Climb and use Aard to destroy the stalagmites.
Walk a few steps to find a chest with the Superior Feline Silver Sword diagram.
How to craft the Armor and Weapons
This is the third Tier of the Cat School Gear, you need a few rare and/or special things to craft it. Visit any Journeyman Blacksmith to craft the swords and a Journeyman Armorer to get the armor set. For the Chest piece, you will need tounlock the Master Armorerin Crow’s Perch.
The Superior Wolf is a high-level gear set. This means that to craft all of the items, you will need crafting materials as well as the previous versions of each item – the Enhanced Feline gear.
Crafting Materials Requirements
Here is a list of some of the more interesting crafting materials you may not have on you and info on how to obtain them as easily and as cheaply:
Meteorite Silver Ingot
Can be purchased from Armorers and other merchants. You can also craft it from Meteorite Ingot and Silver Ingot or Dismantle certain items to get it.
Dimeritium Plate
Can be looted, crafted from Dimeritium Ingots, or purchased directly from a merchant (most often found in armorer and blacksmith shops).
Cured Draconid Leather
Can be purchased from merchants. (it’s a bit expensive but easy to find). Can also dismantle Heavy Armor or Monster Carapace to get it.
Meteorite Silver Plate
Can be purchased from Armorers and other craftsmen and merchants. You can also craft it yourself from Meteorite Silver Ingots.
Dark Steel Ingot
Can be looted, purchased, or crafted from Dark Iron Ore/Dark Iron Ingot and Steel Ingot. You can dismantle some gear pieces.
Dimeritium Ingot
Can be looted, purchased, or crafted from Dimeritium Ore and Glowing Glowing Ore Ingot. You can dismantle some gear pieces.
The rest of the items you can get by purchasing from alchemists, merchants or armorers and blacksmiths. You can also get them by dismantling items at an armorer or blacksmith.
Where to find an Armorer and Blacksmith
It doesn’t matter which NPCs you visit to craft the items, but if you are not sure, I will mention two easily accessible and already available to you from your previous journeys on The Continent.
The Journeyman Armorer’s shop in Novigrad is on the western side of Hierarch Square. The Journeyman Blacksmith in Novigrad can make both swords for you. He is on the northern side of the open market area. This is just west and south of Hierarch Square.
Complete the secondary quests to unlock theMaster Armorer Yoanaat Crow’s Perch andMaster Blacksmith Hattoriin Novigrad. Linked here are the walkthrough guides on how to unlock both of them.
It costs you less to craft your gear at these locations below, because the smiths are thankful for your aid in opening their shops, so you get something like a discount. They are also rich merchants and will be able to buy more junk that you loot while you venture into the wild.
Superior Feline Gear Set Stats
The Superior Edition of the Feline witcher gear is an improvement in any aspect compared to the previous tier. You get additional rune slots as well.
How to get the Legendary Version of the Superior Feline Cat
The Legendary Cat School witcher gear set is available in New Game Plus (NG+) in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. The Scavenging Quest and all diagrams are located in the exact same places as in the normal game.
