There are many more paths into the #finance field than you might imagine. Professor Jose Maria Liberti sees a lot of diversity in backgrounds in students who are interested in pursuing a finance-related career, and he advises them all to first think about the industry and the role that suits them best. And you don’t need to have a quantitative background to succeed as a future finance professional. “Don’t kill your past,” Liberti advises. “Use your expertise to increase your finance job prospects.” Read Liberti’s full tips and how a Kellogg #MBA can help you make the jump into the finance field: https://kell.gg/v9l6 #Kelloggleader

“The truth is you can get a great business education at plenty of top schools. But Kellogg is the right place if you’re looking for a transformational life experience.” Marine Corps veteran and – we love this – perennially disappointed Washington DC football fan Zachary Queen ’25 Two-Year MBA has worked with foreign militaries, was selected as 2022’s Marine Corps Instructor of the Year, and got stage one frostbite while deployed in Norway (“It was almost worth it to see the Northern Lights”), but knew he wanted more from his #MBA. “I wanted a community. Everything at Kellogg convinced me that it was the place to grow and evolve while maintaining a sense of camaraderie that defined my previous life.”Learn more about Zach in Meet the Class of 2025. https://kell.gg/ufat #KelloggLeader

Salespeople are storytellers. But to actually make a sale, your story needs to do more than talk about how great your product or service is: it needs to be meaningful to your customers. And that gap is where too many sales are lost. Professor Gina Fong has the tips you need to make your next sales pitch land, whether you’re trying to sell a mini-van or a premium beverage.: 1. Look for and listen to blocks and obstacles: Actively listen with a humble mindset to find your customers’ pain points. 2. Tap into emotions — not just logic: Understand the mix of emotions your customers have around your product, and step into their POV. 3. Tell a different story: Now take those pain points and those emotions and use them to tell a story that resonates with your customers deeply. By suspending your own judgments about why people should buy and diving into customer-focused storytelling instead, you’ll not only make more sales — you'll build stronger customer loyalty too.
