Informative Medicare Bingo with Ebert Insurance
The library will be hosting an informative bingo program on Thursday, May 9 from 3:00 - 4:00 in the Community Room. This program is in partnership with Ebert Insurance. All adults are welcome; participants will learn about Medicare A and B during a relaxing game of bingo! Please note that this program is not related to the library’s monthly bingo events. Registrations can be made in person, by phone (570-454-2961) or online via the library’s Facebook page and this website under the calendar tab. Please enter through the Green Street entrance.

Alzheimer’s Disease and Brain Health
The library will be hosting a guest speaker from the Alzheimer's Association on Saturday, June 1 at 1:00. This program is free and all adults are welcome, whether you have a loved one who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease or you are simply curious about this disease and what you can do to reduce your risk. Participants will learn the basics of Alzheimer's Disease,what services and treatments are available, and how they can take action. The program will take place in the library's Community Room, which is accessible through the Green Street entrance. Registrations are required and may be made in person, by phone (570-454-2961), or online via the library's Facebook page or this website under the calendar tab.

Flipping the Script on Negative Thinking (Rescheduled)
Are you tired of all the negativity in your news feed? What if you could "flip" those negative thoughts and get a new outlook on life? The library invites you to join Karen Holcomb, L.S.W. for a discussion on how to process negative thoughts in order to live a happier, healthier life. The program will take place at 1:00 on Saturday, June 15 and all adult patrons are welcome to attend. This program will take place in the library's Community Room, which is accessible through the Green St entrance. Registrations may be made in person, by phone (570-454-2961), or online via the library’s Facebook page and this website under the calendar tab.

Storytime at Community Park
Join the Hazleton Area Public Library staff for a special storytime at Community Park at 37 Pecora Blvd, Hazleton, PA 18202. This program will be geared towards kids ages 2 to 5 but is open to anyone. A parent or adult caregiver must accompany all children. Storytime will meet on Thursdays in May, rain or shine,from 1:00 - 1:45. No registration is required.

May STEAM
Kids in grades 4 to 8 are invited to participate in a STEAM program on Monday, May 13, from 6:00 - 7:00, where they will focus on a building challenge. Kids will be given the chance to create a free-standing arch using take-out containers. Registration is required and begins on May 6. Please call the Children’s Department to reserve your spot at 570-454-2961.

May LEGO
On Tuesday,May 14 from 6:00 - 7:00, we invite students in grades 1 - 5 to join us as we attempt a building challenge. After the challenge, the kids will have time to build whatever they wish. The library provides the LEGOS, and all creations stay here. Registration is required and begins on May 6. Please call the library at 570-454-2961 to register.

Star Wars STEM
On Saturday, May 18 from 1:00 - 3:00, we’ll be having a fun Star Wars afternoon filled with different STEM activities. Join us for Sphero pod races, Ozobot droid coding, paper circuit lightsaber drawings, and an Ewok scavenger hunt! You’ll also have a chance to get your picture taken with some Star Wars characters, so make sure to have your camera ready. This is an all ages family program, and registration is not required.
