After falling just short of championship glory in February, the San Francisco 49ers are eyeing another opportunity in Super Bowl 59, and oddsmakers are backing their ambitions. The latest defeat was the second unsuccessful Super Bowl trip of the Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch era. Now, the Niners own the best odds in the league (+550) to finally hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy once more.
Super Bowl 59 will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The team that dashed the 49ers' championship dreams in February, the Kansas City Chiefs, boast the second-best odds (+600) in the NFL to win Super Bowl 59. Among the NFC West teams, the Los Angeles Rams have the next-best odds after the 49ers, with distant +3500 odds, highlighting the perceived gap in talent levels between the two squads.
What sets the 49ers apart as frontrunners for Super Bowl contention in the NFL? Led by quarterback Brock Purdy and playmakers like running back Christian McCaffrey, wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, and tight end George Kittle, the impressive offense secured a No. 2 overall ranking, earning nearly 400 yards per game. The unit finished No. 4 in passing yards and No. 3 in rushing yards. Additionally, their ability to convert that yardage into points was evident, with a No. 3 ranking in points scored.
On defense, the 49ers held opponents to 303.9 yards per game, earning them the No. 8 rank in the league. The unit ranked No. 14 against the pass, No. 3 against the run, and No. 3 in points allowed.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, the NFL team with the least favorable odds is the Carolina Panthers at +25000.
Oddsmakers are considering the 49ers the team to beat on the road to Super Bowl 59. As the team gears up for the upcoming season with some offseason roster adjustments, players and coaches hope their Super Bowl fortunes will finally take a positive turn.
Here are the 10 NFL teams with the best Super Bowl odds, per DraftKings Sportsbook:
- San Francisco 49ers +550
- Kansas City Chiefs +600
- Baltimore Ravens +900
- Buffalo Bills +1100
- Detroit Lions +1200
- Cincinnati Bengals +1300
- Philadelphia Eagles +1700
- Dallas Cowboys +1700
- Miami Dolphins +1900
- Green Bay Packers +1900
